Quote by HB13I have never really liked that
art piece for Jam. But this wall is just too damn good! I can't put it any
better than what zaira just stated, all the little art nuances in that wall is
intoxicating.
Quote by HB13The US Army is separate from
the US Marines.
In layman's terms: The Marines are more of a mobile assault force (due to their
amphbious warship basing as compared with the continental base-locked US Army).
The Marines' ethos of everyone being required to be a marksman (this isn't a
requirement in the U.S. Army) and never retreating (supposedly, when ordered to
retreat they "attack in a different direction" - Korean War), they
have gained the "Devil Dogs" attitude, espirit de corps and nickname
(from WWI German "Teufelhunden"). They are intended to cause trouble
where-ever they go (assault/frontline troops), and are never intended to be used
for occupation duties due to their "trouble making" tendencies
(leaving occupation for the U.S. Army). And there is official doctrine that
there are no special forces in the Marines as the whole MEUs (Marine
Expeditionary Units - reinforced infantry battalions) are usually required to be
SOC (Special Operations Capable) meaning how can there be special forces in an
organization when the whole group is already a special force?
Don't just limit yourself to the U.S. Army. There are other military branches :
Navy, Air Force, Marines Corp, & Coast Guard. As a sidenote, I believe U.S.
citizenship is not a requirement to join
the U.S. armed forces. However since you aren't a U.S. citizen your security
clearances will be significantly lower and you will be barred from highly
confidential occupations such as the Special Forces, & nuclear submarines
(unfortunately the U.S. Rangers are special forces). If you have more questions
please feel free to sign up for the U.S. Army, Navy, etc, recruiter mailing
lists and ask them more questions. There's also recruiter chat room sessions if
you register an account on the Goarmy.com website

Quote by HB13Moved about 5x in 10 years
(Dad's in the Navy). Then we bought a house, and he got some San Diego based
assignments until he retired (shore duty & ships homeported in San Diego).
Haven't moved in the last 10 years since the house purchase though.
I lived there and loved it...I was there for 4 years, I was stationed on two of
the carriers that were there. I loved San Diego...hopefully my husband will end
up getting stationed there again!
Quote by HB13Currently finishing up the last
upper division course requirements for my Biology Major. But I'm still undecided
whether to apply to Med School, find a job after graduation, or continue on as a
Graduate student.
Good luck with all the studying and everything for that! Thanks for replying to
my posts! See you around!
Quote by HB13First I have to learn how to
drive manual, and get a job after I graduate (not sure if I still want to take
the 6+ more years to be a doctor, or any other med specialist).
And after all that I'll just settle with a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX.
Hmmm...medschool huh? Me too, just not sure which school yet as my husband is
Navy and it will have to be around where he is stationed. We are hopimg to go to
San Diego, or Washington DC next so I can go to a decent med school at least. I
am just working on my degree as of now...What specialilty are you looking at if
you don't mind me asking, if you are going to specialize?
Quote by HB13Very nice brush work all over.
I appreciate your out of focus/blurred theme (outline & colors) for the scan
but you still think that the white specks here and there in her black coat are
needed (on the left side by her finger, and the next to the upper arm on the
right side)?
oh that is a default effect, I used halftone patterns on her to make her look
out of focus, so I intend to keep it there.
but thanks anyway.
Quote by HB13Red outline around the
character is just too thick (Especially around the hair). Maybe use a thinner
Gaussian blur instead of such a bold/thick outline.
Thanks for the comment. I used a smaller size for the outline and changed it so
that it wasn't outlining on the inside, but rather the outside. I didn't notice
it the first time around. That way, the outline is still there, but you don't
lose the detail on parts like the hair.
